✨ Featured Events This October
Request NowEvery day, HELB gathers pop-ups, fan events and limited drops from Japan and Korea into the app's Pop-ups and events feed. These nine are the ones we'd plan a trip around this October. A few close within days and others run into the new year. Many sell merch you won't find in Singapore, and some hand out gifts only to people who turn up.

1. Hello Kitty Pop-Up, Tokyo
Ikebukuro, until 26 October. Munyugurumi Patio, a character-goods shop, has a Hello Kitty pop-up in the event space by the South Ticket Gate of JR Ikebukuro Station. Its WHITE & NOIR line pairs a white Kitty with gold bows and a black, lolita-style Kitty in pink and silver. It's open 10:00 to 21:00, closing at 18:00 on the last day.
The munyugurumi mascots, squishy plush charms about 10 cm tall, are ¥2,420 each. The rest is small and cheap: can badges for ¥440, acrylic stands for ¥880, and die-cut stickers and a two-postcard set for ¥385 each. Online orders close with the pop-up on 26 October and don't ship until around the end of January, so buying in person is the quick way.

2. Disney Store Pop-Up, Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport Terminal 1, until 31 March. Disney Store has a pop-up in the second-floor departure lobby of Terminal 1, before security, so you don't need a boarding pass to shop. It's open 9:00 to 19:00 daily. International flights mostly use Terminal 3, and the free shuttle bus to Terminal 1 runs every four minutes from 5:00 to 20:00.
The draw is the Haneda-only range: Mickey dressed as a pilot and Minnie as cabin crew, as plush keychains (¥3,100 each), plus a HANEDA tote (¥1,300), keychain (¥1,500) and sticker (¥150). A Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey plush (¥3,800) comes with a HANEDA charm, in limited numbers. None of it is sold on Disney Store's Japanese website, and Disney says more Haneda items will arrive during the run.

3. One Piece Asia Tour, Jeju
Jeju, until 3 January. One Piece: The Great Era of Piracy Asia Tour (원피스 대해적시대 아시아 투어) fills Water World Jeju, beneath Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo. You walk it barefoot through about 20 cm of water, from Loguetown to Egghead and a new Elbaph zone, past life-size figures and interactive "Water Ring" points. It's open daily 10:00 to 20:00, with last entry at 19:00.
Tickets are ₩29,000 for adults (about S$28), ₩26,000 for youths and ₩24,000 for children, and no booking is needed. Tickets bought on the operator's be-mill site come with a random photocard. There's a goods shop and a café at the exit. It's about an hour's drive from Jeju Airport, and pets, strollers and wheelchairs can't go into the water.

4. Medicube × Forever Cherry, Seoul
Myeongdong, Seoul, until 30 November. Korean skincare brand medicube and Forever Cherry have a pop-up in the POP-UP zone on the 10th floor of Shinsegae Duty Free in Myeongdong, near Hoehyeon Station (Line 4, Exit 7). Entry is free. It's open 10:30 to 20:00 Monday to Thursday, and until 20:30 Friday to Sunday and on public holidays.
The star is the Ribbon Cherry Glass Hairbrush, a pink brush with a bow-shaped cover. It sold 100,000 units in Japan, and in Korea it's sold only through duty-free, for US$20 (about S$26) at Shinsegae. Duty-free shops in Korea ask for a passport and departure details, so it's an easy pick-up for a traveller on their way home.

5. Harry Potter Pop-Up, Fukuoka
Hakata Station, Fukuoka, until 27 December. Harry Potter Mahou Dokoro, Japan's official Harry Potter shop chain, is back in Hakata with a pop-up on the POP UP STAGE on the first floor of AMU EST, the mall built into Hakata Station. It's open 10:00 to 20:00.
New for the run are a ceramic Chocolate Frog stand with the frog clinging to its rim (¥2,530) and a rhinestone-studded Chocolate Frog accessory case (¥15,950). Spend ¥3,300 and you get a random sticker, one of eight designs; spend ¥5,500 and you get a Hogwarts clear file as well. Both gifts are one per purchase, while stocks last.

6. rom&nd 10th Birthday, Seoul
Seongsu, Seoul, until 10 November. K-beauty brand rom&nd turns ten with a "Dear Bestie Party" at its Pink Office in Seongsu, about ten minutes' walk from Seongsu Station (Line 2, Exit 2). Entry is free, it's open 11:00 to 21:00, and visitors report an on-site queue list rather than bookings.
The dress code is #Throwback2016, the year rom&nd launched. There's a birthday-cake photo zone, DIY tint and blush making, and an archive of ten years of colours; post a photo from the party and you get a voucher for a DIY "Bestie" mirror. The limited 10th-anniversary Juicy Lasting Tint, in three shades voted for by 2,500 fans, and a Better Than Palette #Bestie Edition go on sale at Olive Young from 1 November.

7. KAWS: Friends and Neighbors, Seoul
Magok, Seoul, until 27 December. Space K Seoul is showing about 20 works by KAWS, 14 of them new, including NECK AND NECK, THERAPY, RED BALL and a new sculpture, FELLOW. It's near Magok Station (Line 5, Exit 3), open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 (last entry 17:30) and closed on Mondays.
Tickets are ₩8,000 for adults (about S$8), on Naver Booking or at the desk, and the first ten visitors each day get KAWS stickers. The prize is the FELLOW vinyl figure, an edition of 2,000 sold at Space K for ₩590,000. We couldn't confirm it's still in stock, and it already resells for more, so ask a traveller to check before you commit.

8. Demon Slayer Fair, JUMP SHOP Japan
JUMP SHOP stores across Japan, until 25 October. Shueisha's JUMP SHOP chain is running a Demon Slayer fair with 24 new items at its 14 permanent stores, from Sapporo to Fukuoka, plus a limited-time shop at LaLaport Fukuoka. In Tokyo that means Tokyo Station, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Tokyo Dome City and Skytree Solamachi; in Osaka, Umeda, Shinsaibashi and Tennoji. The Okayama store is closed for renovation.
There's something at every price: blind-box acrylic mini figures of the characters as children (¥440), ring notebooks (¥990), bicolour pens with a postcard (¥1,320), Tanjiro's "rice is delicious" plate (¥2,420) and Doma's cult-leader cushion (¥5,500). Online, 24 of the 39 variants had sold out by 15 October, so the shops are the better bet. Five of them offer tax-free shopping for visitors: Tokyo Station, Tokyo Dome City, Yokohama, Umeda and Shinsaibashi.

9. SEVENTEEN Jeonghan Pop-Up, Seoul
Dosan, Seoul, until Sunday 18 October. Fashion label Mardi Mercredi has turned its Dosan flagship into Jeonghan's Private Atelier with SEVENTEEN's Jeonghan, an 11-minute walk from Apgujeong Station (Line 3, Exit 3). Entry is free and it's open 12:00 to 20:00. Naver bookings go in first, and walk-ins join an on-site queue list.
Inside there's an AI photo studio with a free print, a Polaroid wall, a "Bloom to Jeonghan" game and hidden QR videos, with Mardi Mercredi's new unisex collection on the first floor, from ₩52,000 (about S$50). Spend ₩50,000 and you get a set of four Jeonghan mini photos, and every buyer wins something in a lucky draw, from a daisy ring to a sweatshirt. It closes on Sunday, so this one needs a traveller who's already in Seoul.
